02 / Terms of business
Your contract is with SAFETY SOLUTIONS MIDLANDS LTD, trading as The Sign Hub — a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 05548129, whose registered office is 61- 65 Rixon Road, Finedon Road Industrial Estate, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire NN8 4BA(“we”, “us”). Placing an order — by email, purchase order or signed quotation — accepts these terms and excludes any terms printed on your own purchase documentation.
These terms are written for business customers. Where we supply a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the cancellation rights in clause 10 apply.
Quotations are valid for 30 days and are based on the survey information available when we wrote them. Where we have not surveyed, a quotation is subject to survey: if the substrate, access or power supply turns out to be different, we will tell you before any cost changes. Prices exclude VAT unless stated.
We produce a scaled visual before manufacture. Nothing is cut, printed or fabricated until you approve it in writing. Approved artwork is what we make — if a spelling, colour or dimension is approved in error, remakes are chargeable. Printed and painted colours are matched as closely as the process allows; a small variation between substrates, batches and illuminated versus unlit faces is normal and is not a defect.
Where you supply artwork, you confirm you hold the rights to use it and you indemnify us against any third-party claim arising from reproducing it. We retain copyright in drawings, visuals and design work we originate; on full payment you receive a licence to use them for the installed signage.
Illuminated signs, projecting signs and work on listed or conservation-area buildings usually need advertisement consent under the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. We will identify what is needed and can prepare and submit the application; fees are payable by you. Obtaining landlord, freeholder and highway-authority permission remains your responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Lead times run from written artwork approval and receipt of any deposit, and are estimates given in good faith. Installation dates depend on site access being available as agreed — including parking, power, and a clear working area. Abortive visits caused by site access, weather that makes work at height unsafe, or a site that is not ready are chargeable at our day rate plus any access-equipment hire.
We are responsible for removing our own waste and leaving the working area clean. Making good decoration behind a removed sign is not included unless it is itemised in the quotation.
Orders under £2,000 are payable in full on completion. Larger orders are 50% on order and the balance within 14 days of installation. Account terms are available to approved trade and public-sector clients. Title in goods passes on full payment; risk passes on delivery or installation. We reserve the right to charge interest and recovery costs on overdue sums under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Changes requested after written approval are quoted as a variation before we act on them. If you cancel after approval, you are liable for materials already purchased and work already carried out; bespoke items that cannot be resold are charged in full.
We warrant our manufacture and installation for five years, LEDs and drivers for ten years, and powder-coated steelwork for ten years, in each case against defective materials or workmanship in normal use. The warranty excludes accidental damage, vandalism, storm damage, third-party alteration, failure to clean or maintain, and fading of client-supplied media. Consumables such as banner ties, magnetic panels and adhesive-mounted temporary graphics are excluded. Vehicle graphics are warranted against lifting and delamination for the media manufacturer's stated life, provided the vehicle is not pressure-washed within 25mm of an edge.
Report a defect to info@thesignhub.net or 01933 449099. We will attend to inspect, and where the claim is valid we repair or replace at our option, including access equipment, at no charge.
We maintain public liability and employer's liability insurance; certificates are available on request. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost trade, lost profit or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Where you are a consumer and the contract was concluded away from our premises, you have 14 days to cancel. That right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised — which covers most signage — once manufacture has begun with your written approval.
Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, utility failure, industrial action or restrictions on site access. We will tell you promptly and agree a revised date.
Raise a problem with us first — most are resolved by a site visit. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
