One of them is quickest.
You will speak to someone who surveys and specifies signage for a living, not a call handler reading from a script. If we are on site, leave a message and you will get a call back the same day.
02 / The visit
Forty-five minutes
that saves a fortnight.
Almost every signage problem we get called in to fix — a tray that will not sit flat, letters drilled into the wrong course, a lightbox with no supply behind it — traces back to a job that was quoted from a photograph. So we come and look.
Here is exactly what gets checked while we are there.
- 01Measure the elevationHeight, width, brick courses, the depth of the reveal and where the existing fixings sit.
- 02Test the substrateRender, brick, timber, curtain walling or cladding all take a different fixing — and a different weight.
- 03Find the powerWhere the supply is, whether it is switched, and what an electrician will need to do before we arrive.
- 04Walk the sightlinesHow far away the sign has to be readable from, and what the street lighting does to it after dark.
- 05Check the accessWhether a tower will do, whether we need a MEWP, and where it can legally stand on the day.
- 06Note the consentsListed building, conservation area, projecting over a highway — we identify what needs consent before you commit.

Signage quotes are notoriously hard to compare because half of them hide the access equipment and the consent work. Ours lists everything, so if you are getting three prices you can put them side by side.
Nothing is cut, printed or fabricated until you approve the drawing in writing.

The questions
everybody asks.
Does the site visit cost anything?
No. The survey is free and there is no obligation attached to it. We would rather spend an hour measuring than quote something that turns out not to fit.
How quickly can someone come out?
Usually within two working days across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties. For national rollouts we plan a survey run rather than individual visits.
What do you need from me on the day?
Access to the frontage and, if the sign will be lit, some idea of where the electrical supply is. If you are a tenant, it helps to know who the landlord is — consent often runs through them.
I only have a photo — is that enough to start?
Enough to give you options and a budget range, yes. We will not issue a fixed price off a photograph, because the fixing and the substrate are the two things a photo cannot tell us.
How long from saying yes to a sign on the wall?
Typically two to five weeks from written artwork approval, depending on the build. Vinyl and safety signage can be days. Advertisement consent, where it is needed, adds around eight weeks — we tell you at survey, not later.
Do you work outside trading hours?
Routinely. Retail units and occupied offices are usually fitted at night or on a Sunday, and we do not charge a premium for it.
